Betterfly is a Latin American employee wellbeing and benefits platform serving companies across the region and globally.

When I joined the design systems effort, the product organization was operating across multiple product surfaces without a shared foundation — components were duplicated, tokens didn’t exist, and there was no consistent contribution model for designers or engineers.

Role

I worked across research, audits, component architecture, documentation, training, and adoption workflows. During the first phase, I helped build the system foundations alongside engineering. Later, as Design Systems Lead reporting to the VP of Experience, I led governance, system strategy, and cross-team operations.

I led the end-to-end design of Bubble: defining the token architecture across primitive, semantic, and component layers; building a library of 72+ documented components; and designing the governance and contribution workflows that allowed the system to scale sustainably over time.

I worked in close partnership with a delivery manager and a dedicated cross-functional team — Bubble was designed to live in code, not just in Figma.
